The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS met with student leaders on Friday, October 28, 2022 to discuss the students’ concerns about the revised academic calendar for the 2021/2022 academic session.
Among the issues discussed were the short period available for students to attend lectures and study before the first semester examination commences and power supply in the halls of residence.
Taking the concerns of the students into careful consideration, the Vice-Chancellor assured the faculty presidents that the commencement of the first-semester examinations for the 2021/2022 academic session will be extended by one week.
In view of the above, the examinations earlier scheduled to commence on Monday, November 28, 2022 will now hold from Monday, December 5, 2022.
Similarly, electricity supply would be available in halls of residence from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. as against the previous arrangement of 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
In addition, the students’ portal will be opened for one week for the registration of courses.
According to Prof. Ogundipe, other issues raised by the students including the squatting situation in the hostels would be looked into by the Dean, Students Affairs Division, with the view of drawing up practicable decisions.
