Fulbright Alumni Ends 18th Conference with Commendations to UNILAG

The 18^th Annual Conference of the Fulbright Alumni Association of Nigeria (FAAN) hosted by the University of Lagos, ended on a high note with delegates applauding the University management for surpassing their expectations.

Speaking at a dinner cum get-together organised to wrap up the 3-day conference on Friday, April 28, 2023, the delegates led by their President, Professor Adele, Garkida gave thumbs up to the Professor Folasade Ogunsola, FAS, led management for hosting the conference excellently.

Prof. Garkida alongside other delegates who came from different institutions across the country relived their experiences since arrival on UNILAG campus, describing it as warm, awesome, rewarding, impactful and epochal.

While acknowledging the warm disposition of the entire university community, the delegates were also thankful to the Vice-Chancellor for identifying with the Association even before the conference; her warm acceptance since their arrival and for tasking them on ways to improve the current state of tertiary education in Nigeria.

Responding on behalf of the entire university community, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, FAS, congratulated the FAAN members on the successful completion of the 18^th annual conference.

She expressed hopes that the recommendations of various speakers at the conference would be communicated to relevant stakeholders for proper consideration and implementation, with a view to achieving the desired paradigm shift in the country’s tertiary education system thereby bettering the lots of present and future generations of students.

The Vice-Chancellor later led the Fulbright scholars to the meal table where they were treated to various delicacies.

The Creative Arts Department Live Band was on ground to add colour to the event with different music for the enjoyment of the Fulbright delegates.

The 18^th Annual Conference of the Fulbright Alumni Association of Nigeria (FAAN) hosted by the University of Lagos held between Wednesday, April 26 till Saturday, April 29, 2023 with the theme: Improving the Quality of Higher Education: Stakeholders Engagement.
