The Chancellor, University of Lagos, His Royal Eminence, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, CFR, Shehu of Borno, has expressed delight about the upcoming Diamond Anniversary.
The monarch stated this on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, when he received Principal Officers of the University led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, at his UNILAG residential lodge.
The Chancellor who wished God’s guidance on the University, reiterated his support and commitment to the Institution of higher learning.
While commending the administrative style of the Vice-Chancellor, the Shehu of Borno attributed the high regard Prof Ogundipe enjoys amongst the varsity’s stakeholders to his manner of the running the University. appreciated the management team for the visit.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, disclosed the University’s plans towards its upcoming 60th Anniversary, which has the theme, “Eyes on the Future”. He expressed gratitude to the Chancellor for his unwavering support to the University over the years and assured that the University will maintain its enviable standard of education.
Professor Ogundipe reeled out some achievements of the University, despite the limited resources available to it and thanked the Chancellor for his fatherly role in the University.
His Royal Eminence, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, is the 7th Chancellor of the University of Lagos and he was officially installed on March 3, 2016.
