UNILAG Staff School Receives Football Equipment; Unveils Football Coach from UNILAG Alumni Chairman Lagos Branch

It was an historic moment on Friday, March 12, 2021 as the University of Lagos Staff School took delivery of some football equipment as well as unveiled a new football coach courtesy of Dr. Benjamin Olowojebutu, Chairman UNILAG Alumni Lagos Branch.

Speaking at the ceremony Headmistress, UNILAG Staff School, Dr. Mrs Juliet Ajayi, thanked Dr. Olowojebutu for keeping to his campaign promises since emerging as Chairman but also used the occasion to remind him of other projects he promised to help complete.

Dr. Ajayi also paid special tributes to UNILAG Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS for his fatherly love and support to the School. She wrapped up her comment by appealing to the invited guests present at the event to help look for past students of the school who could help in the completion of some of their pending projects.

According to Dr. Olowojebutu, it was imperative to appreciate the UNILAG Vice Chancellor for finding time to grace the ceremony despite his busy schedule. The Executive Founder of Benjamin Olojebutu Foundation also said Staff School, University of Lagos has been his pet project from the very day he stepped into the compound to campaign so what is happening today is not mistake but rather ordained by God.

 In his remarks the Vice Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Ogundipe, appreciated Dr. Olowojebutu for the giant strides he has made since assuming office on Monday, December 14, 2020.  Professor Ogundipe also thanked the entire management of UNILAG Staff School for the amazing services they have been rendering over the years. 

“Over the years I have always appreciated the passion and commitment teachers of this school have shown when it comes to discharging their duties” “I am happy that my decision to leave my children at Staff School back then paid dividends owing to the teachings they got from people like Mrs. Adedoyin Akande (now Deputy Headmistress) and some other fantastic teachers”.

The Vice Chancellor added that UNILAG has been blessed with people who on a consistent basis show support for the institution.

The event ended with official unveiling of Football Coach Babatunde Oluwo as well as presentation of football equipment to the school which included Size 5 balls (5), Size 4 balls (6), One set of Flat Cones and 2 sets of Training Bibs.
