Ahead of the 2026/2027 Post-UTME Aptitude Test scheduled to hold from Monday, July 27, 2026 to Friday, July 31, 2026, candidates are required to read carefully and comply strictly with the following instructions. Failure to comply with any of these instructions may result in disqualification or other sanctions as may be determined by the University.
General Instructions
- The Post-UTME Aptitude Test is a competitive online examination conducted under remotely proctored examination conditions. All candidates shall conduct themselves in accordance with these instructions throughout the examination.
- Candidates shall be appropriately dressed in a manner that permits proper visual identification throughout the examination. All examination activities, including audio and video recordings, shall be monitored and recorded for examination integrity, verification and investigation purposes.
- Candidates are solely responsible for ensuring access to a reliable and stable internet connection before and throughout the examination.
- Candidates shall use only a laptop computer equipped with an in-built webcam and microphone. Mobile phones, tablets, external webcams, virtual cameras, HDMI-connected displays and similar external devices are prohibited.
- Candidates shall ensure that the webcam remains unobstructed throughout the examination. Any obstruction or interruption preventing continuous visual monitoring may result in disqualification or cancellation of the examination.
- Candidates shall remain seated and within full camera view throughout the examination except where expressly authorised by the examination platform or the University.
- No other person shall be present within the examination area or enter the candidate’s immediate examination environment throughout the examination. The presence of any unauthorised person may constitute examination misconduct and may result in disqualification.
- The examination shall last thirty (30) minutes. Time begins to run immediately the candidate clicks the “Start Examination” button and continues irrespective of any interruption or logout. At the expiration of the allotted time, the examination shall be automatically submitted.
- Candidates shall not speak, read questions aloud, communicate verbally or engage in any conduct capable of compromising examination integrity. Any breach may result in disqualification.
- The use of face masks, face caps (including fez caps), headphones, earbuds, earpieces, wristwatches, bracelets, smart glasses or any similar wearable electronic device is prohibited. Candidates’ faces and ears must remain fully visible throughout the examination.
- Candidates are strongly advised to use their personal laptops where available. Candidates who elect to use business centres or cybercafés do so at their own risk and remain fully responsible for ensuring strict compliance with all examination requirements, including maintaining an isolated examination environment.
- Candidates shall ensure that the examination environment remains quiet and free from interruptions or background noise throughout the examination. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.
- The examination environment shall be adequately illuminated to permit continuous identification of the candidate. Failure to maintain adequate visibility may result in disqualification.
- Candidates may log into the examination platform only on their assigned examination date and at their scheduled examination time.
- Candidates experiencing technical difficulties shall immediately report such issues using the “Need Help?” feature on the examination platform. Candidates shall exhaust all prescribed troubleshooting procedures before submitting a complaint. Failure to report any issue promptly may prejudice subsequent investigation. Updates on submitted complaints shall be communicated through the candidate’s registered email address or the examination platform.
Directions for Accessing the Examination
The Post-UTME Aptitude Test may be accessed through any of the following authorised channels:
- By clicking the “Go to WebTest” button on the UNILAG Application Portal;
- By clicking the “Click Here to Take Exam” button contained in the official examination email; or
- By visiting https://unilag.proctee.webtest.ng and logging in with the candidate’s UTME Registration Number as username and surname (entered entirely in lowercase letters) as password.
All the above methods lead to the examination dashboard.
Step 1: Upon successful login, click “Take Exam” to access the examination instructions page and download and install Safe Examination Browser (SEB) appropriate for your operating system.
Only the version specified on the instructions page shall be accepted. Candidates who have already installed the required version need not reinstall it.
Step 2: Grant all permissions requested by the Safe Examination Browser. Failure to grant the required permissions may prevent access to the examination.
Step 3: Upon successful installation, return to the examination page and click “Click here to take your exam” to launch the examination.
Operating System Requirement: The Safe Examination Browser supports only Windows 10 or later versions of Windows and macOS Ventura or later. Candidates using unsupported operating systems shall not be permitted to access the examination.
Mock Examination
Participation in the Mock Examination is mandatory for all candidates. Candidates shall use the same laptop computer, internet connection and examination environment intended for the actual Post-UTME Aptitude Test.
The Mock Examination is designed solely to verify device compatibility, browser functionality, webcam and microphone operation, internet connectivity and overall system readiness.
The Mock Examination shall remain available until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026. No additional fee is payable for participation.
Participation in the Mock Examination does not guarantee successful access to the actual examination where candidates subsequently alter their devices, software configuration, internet connection or examination environment.
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS
- Candidates are solely responsible for ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the examination. The University shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from power failure.
- The University shall not be responsible for interruptions caused by internet service providers, network failures or any other technical issues beyond its reasonable control.
- The University reserves the right to verify the identity of any candidate before, during or after the examination. Any examination may be invalidated where the candidate’s identity cannot be satisfactorily established.
- Any conduct amounting to impersonation, unauthorised assistance, communication with another person, the use of prohibited devices, multiple logins, or any other form of examination malpractice shall constitute examination misconduct and may result in cancellation of the candidate’s examination, withdrawal of the candidate from the screening exercise and any other disciplinary action prescribed by the University.
- Candidates shall comply with all instructions issued by the University before, during and after the examination. Ignorance of these instructions shall not be accepted as an excuse for non-compliance.
- The University reserves the right to suspend, postpone, reschedule or cancel the examination or any part thereof where circumstances so require, without incurring any liability.
- The University reserves the right to review, investigate and determine all cases involving alleged technical failures, examination misconduct or breaches of these instructions.
- The decision of the University on all matters relating to the administration, conduct and outcome of the Post-UTME Aptitude Test shall be final and binding on all candidates.

DISCLAIMER
- The general public and all prospective candidates are hereby informed that the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has not approved, appointed, licensed, accredited or authorised any individual, organisation, cybercafé, business centre or CBT centre to conduct, facilitate, supervise, register or administer the 2026/2027 Post-UTME Aptitude Test on its behalf.
- The Post-UTME Aptitude Test shall be conducted strictly online. Candidates are required to take the examination from a location of their choice using a suitable laptop computer equipped with an in-built webcam and microphone, together with a reliable and stable internet connection, in accordance with the official examination instructions.
- The only approved fee for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening Exercise is ₦5,500.00 comprising:
Application Fee – ₦2,000.00 Administrative Fee – ₦3,500.00
Candidates must not make any additional payment to any person or organisation claiming to represent or act on behalf of the University. - Candidates are strongly advised to disregard any advertisement, publication, message, social media post, telephone call or other communication requesting additional payments or claiming that any CBT centre or organisation has been approved by the University.
- All information relating to the Post-UTME Screening Exercise, including registration, examination procedures, schedules, announcements and updates, shall be obtained only from the University’s official website and officially verified communication channels.
- The University does not assume responsibility for, and expressly disclaims any liability arising from, any representation, promise, payment, transaction, arrangement or dealing between any candidate and any unauthorised individual, organisation, cybercafé, business centre or purported CBT centre.
- Any candidate who elects to engage or transact with any unauthorised person or organisation does so entirely at his or her own risk, and the University shall not be liable for any financial loss, fraud, misinformation, denial of access to the examination, data compromise or any other direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage arising therefrom.
- The University reserves the right to investigate, reject, invalidate or cancel any application or examination where there is evidence of fraud, impersonation, unauthorised assistance, or any violation of the University’s Post-UTME Guidelines and Examination Instructions.
- By registering for the Post-UTME Screening Exercise, every candidate is deemed to have read, understood and accepted these conditions and all other official instructions governing the examination.
