The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, received the leadership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Lagos Chapter, during a courtesy visit to her Senate House office.
The delegation was led by the Chapter’s Chairman, Engr. Olukorede Kesha, FNSE, who highlighted the visit as a symbolic and heartfelt expression of gratitude to the University for its continued support, particularly in hosting the Society’s office on campus.

Describing the University as a valued partner, Engr. Kesha noted that it is part of the Society’s tradition to pay courtesy visits to institutions that provide such support.
“We are here to show appreciation to our landlord. The University graciously provided us with space within its grounds, and it is our custom to visit whenever we are here to say thank you and to share the work we are doing to add value to the community,” she said.

Beyond expressing appreciation, the visit also provided an opportunity for the NSE leadership to highlight its contributions to the University, particularly within the Faculty of Engineering. These include scholarship opportunities and other professional development initiatives aimed at supporting and empowering students.
The Chairman further emphasized the Society’s readiness to deepen engagement and explore ways to better align its contributions with the University’s strategic goals.

In response, Professor Ogunsola expressed appreciation to NSE executives for the visit and continued support to the University. She acknowledged the importance of such partnerships in advancing academic and professional excellence, especially in engineering education.



The Vice-Chancellor also identified areas for strengthened collaboration, noting that sustained engagement would enhance opportunities for students and contribute meaningfully to national development.


Other members of the NSE delegation included the Vice Chairman, Engr. Lukman Bakare; Engr. Yetunde Holloway; Engr. Olayinka Abdul; the Secretary, Engr. Felix Adetunji Fagbola; and Engr. J.A. Akinwande.



The visit concluded on a cordial note with an exchange of gifts, symbolising the shared commitment of both institutions to sustained partnership and mutual growth.
