Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lagos, in a bid to support the current fight against COVID-19 in the country, recently donated packs of hand sanitizers to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba.
The hand sanitizers made of gel and solution formulations were produced by the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy and presented by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. (Mrs.) Glory Ajayi to the Chief Medical Director, LUTH, Prof. Chris Bode and the Management of the Hospital. The presentation was made on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, the Management team and the entire University of Lagos community.
This was done in order to identify with LUTH and by extension, the Lagos State Government and the nation as the courageous and patriotic fight against the COVID–19 pandemic rages on. They are for use by frontline ‘warriors’ at the hospital and other members of staff caring for the COVID-19 patients.
On receiving the sanitizers, Prof. Chris Bode expressed deep gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and the entire University of Lagos community for the kind gesture.
