The Staff Training and Development Unit (STDU) is set to hold a 2-day Capacity Building Workshop on “Understanding Finance, Accounting and Auditing for Decision-Making” for Staff on Executive Cadre in the Bursary and Internal Audit.
The training will run in two (2) batches from Tuesday, November 5 to Wednesday, November 6 and Monday, November 11 to Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at the Human Resources and Development Centre (Conference Room) at 9:00a.m. prompt daily.
The objectives of the workshop are to:
- Give participants a broader understanding of finance, accounting and auditing principles, practices and procedures;
- Improve the performance standards of participants in their current roles and position them for higher responsibilities;
- Enable participants to provide financial decision-making support services in a more efficient, effective and confident manner.
The resource persons are Professor S. B. Adeyemi, Head, Department of Accounting; Mrs. J. A. Akeredolu, Former Bursar, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU); Dr. (Mrs.) S. O. Ajibolade, Department of Accounting; Mrs. B. A. Popoola, Chief Internal Auditor, CMUL; Dr. Victor Odumuyiwa, Ag. Director, CITS; Mrs. O. Y. Adekunle, Deputy Bursar (Treasury); Mr. A. O. Aluko, Deputy Bursar, DLI; Mr. Olusanya O. Idowu, Partner, Fiftlan & Associates Chartered Accountants.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, will declare the workshop open.
