The Music Unit of the Department of Creative Arts, University of Lagos (UNILAG) will be hosting an Erasmus Music Workshop as scheduled below:
Date: Friday, October 11 – Tuesday, October 15, 2024
Time: 10:00 a.m. daily
The Music Workshop is organised under a Staff/Student Mobility Erasmus+ Programme (KA 171 Project “MMM Mediterranean/Sub-Saharan Music Movement”). It is part of an Inter-Institutional Agreement between the Conservatorio di Musica “Alessandro Scarlatti”, Palermo, Italy, and the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
The programme aims to expose students of the university to the rich and diverse MMM Mediterranean/Sub-Saharan Music Movement. Professors from the Conservatory in Palermo will be teaching a variety of courses, including:
- European and Latin American contemporary piano dances from traditional music,
- Piano,
- European Theory and Systems,
- Organology, and
- Sicilian Music Tradition – Sicilian musical sources.
