It has come to the attention of the University Management that there has been unauthorized collection, recycling and sale of waste on campus.
This is a serious matter that undermines the commitment of the University of Lagos to proper waste management and recycling efforts.
Members of the University Community are hereby enjoined to adhere to the UNILAG Waste, Sorting and Recycling protocols. All waste generated on campus must be disposed off through the officially designated janitorial contractors and sent to the university’s Sorting Center.
It is strictly prohibited for any staff, student, or service provider to collect, sort, or sell waste to unauthorized individuals or entities. The established recycling process must be followed without exception.
We encourage every member of the University Community to promptly report any instance of scavenging to the Security Unit. Your cooperation in this matter is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our waste management systems and ensuring the safety of our campus environment.
In support of our University’s environmental sustainability efforts, we encourage you to actively participate in waste sorting and to utilize the Recycling Banks located at Aminah Hall, Mareire Hall, DLI Junction, and High Rise.
