A delegation of the National Universities Commission (NUC) has arrived the University of Lagos for accreditation of its Architecture programme.
On Thursday, November 7, 2023, the 3-men delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS accompanied by the Director, Academic Planning, Prof. Olusoji Ilori; Dean, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Prof. M. M. Omini; Executive Director of UNILAG Business School, Prof. Mike Adebamowo; Ag. Head, Department of Architecture, Dr. P. O. Obi; Dr. A. C. O Iweka, Dr. N. Uduma Oluga, and Arc. Andrew Akinnubi.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Prof. Ayodele Atsenuwa along with the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Makinde welcomed the team and reiterated the University’s commitment of keeping to NUC standards.
She also assured the delegation of the Department’s readiness to cooperate and present all requirements in accordance to the commission’s guidelines. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor added that the University would be glad to receive advice to improve more in the programme.
In response, the Chairman of the NUC delegation, Prof. C.B. Chukwuali of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu appreciated the UNILAG Management for the warm reception. He stated that the accreditation team would work in line with NUC guidelines and proffer recommendations where necessary.
