A delegation of the National Universities Commission (NUC) has arrived the University of Lagos for the accreditation of the following Faculty of Engineering programmes: Mechanical Engineering, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
The delegation was led on a courtesy visit to the Office of the Vice Chancellor on Monday, November 27, 2023 by the Director of Academic Planning, Professor Mathew Ilori, and Faculty of Engineering staff including the Dean, Professor Obanishola Sadiq.
They were received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Professor Ayodele Atsenuwa along with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Professor Lucian Chukwu; and Acting Registrar, Mrs. Olakunle Makinde.
During the visit, the leader of the NUC delegation and one-time Deputy Executive Secretary of the Commission, Professor O. V Ekechukwu emphasized the importance of the visit. He added that the team’s mission is to evaluate the programmes in line with the standard stipulated by NUC.
While receiving and welcoming the delegation, Professor Atsenuwa stated the institution’s efforts to improve its learning and teaching process. She noted that the university is open to the feedback of the peer-review exercise.
