The Centre for Housing and Sustainable Development (CHSD), University of Lagos will host a Pneumacity Roundtable Discussion and Photo Exhibition: The Tangible Value of Waste on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 10:00a.m. at the Arthur Mbanefo Digital Research Centre, UNILAG, Akoka.
The roundtable discussion will focus on findings from and themes related to the Pneuma-City collaborative research project by investigators drawn from Universities of Kent, Lagos, Toronto, and York. The project explores the impact and challenges of used and waste tyres, combining engineering, social sciences, and contemporary art. https://pneuma-city.org
The event will also feature an exhibition of photographic materials from Andrew Esiebo, a Lagos-based artist, who has been photographing the urban presence of tyres in Lagos as well as the men and women working with tyres, especially the roadside vulcanizers.
