Canada-Based Energy Expert Proposes Ways to Flip Brain Drain Challenge

A Nigerian energy expert based in Canada, Dr. Emmanuel B. Ogedengbe, FNSE has proposed ways by which African countries like Nigeria can demystify the challenge of brain drain and flip it into massive gains.

The Principal Investigator, Energhx Research Group highlighted this proposal at the monthly seminar of the Faculty of Engineering, held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Rahamon Bello Auditorium.

Examining the causes of migration and its possible consequences for the countries of departure and destination respectively, Dr. Ogedengbe submitted that in a digital world, it is easier to leverage technology to turn brain drain to brain gain.

“Why worry that someone has emigrated to Japan when you can take advantage of what he is doing over there on a digital platform? That is how to demystify brain drain”, he declared.

He presented aspects of his organisation’s digital platform to the audience, and called for collaborations/patnerships in the various opportunities offered by the platform.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. O.M Sadiq, FNSE appreciated Dr. Emmanuel B Ogedengbe, FNSE for sharing the results of his research, and encouraged willing participants to take up the offer for collaboration on projects.
