LUCCE Commemorate World Environment Day, Host Discourse, June 8

The Land-Use Change and Carbon Emissions (LUCCE) Research Group of the University of Lagos will hold a discourse themed, “Forest and Carbon Management in Nigeria”, in commemoration of World Environment Day as follows:

Dr. Mayowa Fasona, Principal Investigator of the LUCCE Project, will speak on the topic: “Land-Use Change and Carbon Emission in South -Western Nigeria”, while Dr. Peter A. Adeonipekun, an Associate Professor at the Department of Botany, UNILAG will moderate the discourse. 

The LUCCE Research Group, a team of Botanists from the Department of Botany and Geographers from the Department of Geography, UNILAG, are concerned with the land use change and carbon management in Nigeria. The team had a TETFund Grant for their project on Southwest Nigeria. To close the project, members of the team plan to disseminate their findings to and engage with stakeholders and the public through this discourse.

  • Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe,
  • Prof Ademola Omojola, and
  • Prof Alabi Soneye.
