Quality Assurance and SERVICOM Unit Celebrates Immediate Past Director, Professor Otinwa in Grand Style

The staff of the Quality Assurance and SERVICOM unit of the University on Thursday, May 25, 2023, celebrated the immediate past Director of the unit, Professor Grace Otinwa.

The event which was held inside the hallowed chamber of the second floor, Senate House, witnessed the outpour of love and camaraderie by staff, students, and other members of the Quality Assurance and SERVICOM committees.

In his opening remarks, the Director, Quality Assurance and SERVICOM unit, Professor Olufemi Muibi Saibu extolled the virtue of his predecessor and described her as a silent achiever.

According to him, her commitment and her unrivaled attention to detail stands her out while she served as the Director of the office. His words “ … Professor Otinwa is a meticulous person and will do everything within her reach to achieve excellence not minding the task. Her dedication to the overall well-being have been of immense benefit to the Quality Assurance and SERVICOM unit and we are indeed grateful“.

Professor Saibu attributed some notable development to the great ideas that she offered while she served as Director. These include the creation of the ‘Student’s Vanguard’group and the production of a service charter amongst others.

Other speakers such as Professor Soyebi of the College of Medicine, Mr. Agboola of the Bursary Unit, Professor Sule of the Faculty of Education, her mentees at the doctoral level as well as a representative of the Student Vanguard spoke glowingly about the amazing qualities of the astute administrator and thorough-bred academic.

In response to the heart-warming comments, Professor Grace Olapeju Otinwa expressed her gratitude to God Almighty, and the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS who gave her the opportunity to lead the unit. She disclosed that she was able to apply herself thoroughly due to the support she enjoyed from members of the university community.
