The University of Lagos announces the passage of a Professor of Botany, Theophilus Oremade Orebamjo.
Born on May 19, 1932 into the family of Mr. James Oso Orebamjo and Madam Dorcas Adebomeyin in Odofin Compound of Ogere-Remo, Ogun State, Professor Orebamjo died on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
The Nonagenarian was the first Professor of Plant Physiology and Head of Department of Botany (1980- 1984).
The accomplished intellectual whose brilliant contributions transcends the academia is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
On behalf of the entire University of Lagos community, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, FAS, commiserates with the Orebamjo family and prays for the repose of the soul of Professor Theophilus Oremade Orebamjo.
