Prof. Ogunsola Admonishes Professional Administrators on New Methods To Enhance the University System

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, FAS, has charged the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), to continue to contribute to the strategic transformation of Nigerian Universities into citadels of excellence in learning.

Professor Ogunsola gave the admonition when the Executive members of the Association, UNILAG chapter paid her a courtesy visit at the Senate House on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. 

According to her, the leadership of the Association should be conscious of the fact that academic excellence must be supported by efficient professional support staff.

The Vice-Chancellor lamented the significant percentage of low and middle-level Administrators, noting that their competencies and skills should take a notch up higher with the rapid change and continuous evolution of the modes of engagement.  

Her words “for the Association to fulfil its mandate of spear-heading training for university administrators, there is a compelling imperative for continuous training and re-retraining of her members who must hone existing skills and urgently develop contemporary ones; particularly IT skills to be able to manage operational aspects of the university that is increasingly being driven by IT”.

The team of administrators who were in the company of the Registrar, Oladejo Azeez, Esq congratulated Prof. Ogunsola on her appointment as the first female Vice-Chancellor of the university.

The Ag.Chairman, Mr. Olakunle Babatunde revealed that the purpose of the visit was to assure Prof. Ogunsola of the Association’s support. He noted that the Vice-Chancellor’s immense contributions to academia and the society over the years are commendable.

On moving with the realities of the present-day challenges, he assured the University Gaffer of the readiness of the ANUPA-UNILAG chapter to promote and advance professional administrative knowledge and best practice through workshops and seminars.

Thereafter, the Registrar decorated Prof. Ogunsola as a proud member of the Association.
