Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, FAS, on Friday, November 18, 2022, took delivery of books worth ₦20,000,000.00 ( twenty million naira) courtesy of a Publishing Company, Havilah Group.
The donation, according to the Vice-Chancellor, resonates with the mission of UNILAG to collaborate with key industry players in grooming students who are industry-ready.
Prof. Ogunsola was full of gratitude to the management and staff of Havilah Group for the show of solidarity and support for the University of Lagos in the quest to transform into a university of the future.
While underscoring the indispensability of quality books and other learning materials in the growth and development of education, the Vice-Chancellor recalled series of ongoing efforts being put in place at the University library all geared towards making the place user-friendly and attractive. She assured Havilah Group that the donation would be optimized for the benefit of students of the university.


The visit by the Havilah Group, led by the Chairman/Managing Director, Olanrewaju Adesuyi, was also an opportunity to congratulate and identify with Professor Folasade Ogunsola, FAS, for breaking the glass ceiling by emerging as the first female Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos.
Speaking on behalf of Havilah Group, Executive Director, Operations, Mr. Biodun Olaniran, said the team is also using the avenue to celebrate with Prof. Ogunsola on her 64th birthday which she held on Monday, November 14, 2022 being her first weekday in office as Vice-Chancellor.
The Havilah Group prayed and wished Professor Ogunsola success in office and assured of their support as well as readiness to work with UNILAG management especially in the task of building a university of the future.
The highpoint of the official presentation was the official handover of the books by the Chairman/Managing Director, Olanrewaju Adesuyi to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola who was flanked by the University Librarian, Professor Yetunde Zaid.
