A special delegation of the management and students’ representative of the University of Lagos Business School (ULBS) on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 celebrated the outgoing Vice Chancellor of the University for his commitment to the development of the School.

The delegation led by the School’s Executive Director, Professor Mike Adebamowo included: Prof. Sulaimon, Dr. Simeon Ifore, Dr. Tolu Olufunlayo, Dr. Grant Akata, Dr. Dimeji Alo, Dr. Folake Olowokudejo, Mr. Sodje Victor, Mrs. Olorunleke O.I., Ajijola Abraham, Olukemi O Fasesan and Dr. Ajao Rotimi.

In his remarks, Prof. Adebamowo expressed profound gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for his continued support of ULBS, and rejoiced with him as his vision for ULBS at its conception is currently a reality.

According to him, the ULBS is immune to strike and several other challenges which affects tertiary education in Nigeria.  The School currently runs seamlessly and this is as a result of deliberate strategizing and implementation of the vision that led to the setting up of the school.

Other members of the delegation also spoke glowingly about the commitment and dedication of Prof. Ogundipe to ensuring the success of ULBS.

In response, the Vice Chancellor expressed appreciation to the team for the visit, and commended the staff of the School, particularly its immediate past and current Executive Directors, Prof. Abraham Osinubi and Prof. Adebamowo.

His words, “the idea of ULBS was based on a vision of a globally-acceptable Business School, operating seamlessly and in line with best practices.  The leadership and board membership selection was based on capability as well as the need for intellectual contributions of people outside the four walls of tertiary education”.

He challenged the ULBS management to position the Business School as a top School to be reckoned with based on its global ranking and development of case studies that fit the Nigerian environment and context.

At the end of the visit, the ULBS delegation presented a goodwill gift to the outgoing Vice-Chancellor and prayed for his continued success in life.
