Professor Rufus Akinyele Appointed Vice-Chancellor, Maranatha University, Lagos


Professor Rufus Taiwo Akinyele of the Department of History and Strategic Studies, Faculty of Arts has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Maranatha University, Lagos.


The appointment is with effect from Monday, October 10, 2022.


Professor Akinyele joined the services of the University of Lagos in January 1990 and rose through the ranks to become a Professor in 2005. Prior to this appointment, he had served as Director of the Centre for African Regional Integration and Border Studies (CARIBS), and the Confucius Institute at the University of Lagos.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, on behalf of the Senate, Management, staff and students of the University of Lagos congratulates Professor Rufus Taiwo Akinyele on this appointment and wishes him a successful tenure.
