A leading Media Specialist Communication Agency in Lagos and Friend of UNILAG, Algorithm Media Limited on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, formally presented 3 alumni of the Mass Communication Department, University of Lagos to the Vice-Chancellor as its latest employees.
The recruitment of the trio of Deborah Folaranmi, Mary-Ann Ushi and Ifunanya Orji is in fulfilment of the first leg of Media organization’s “3-by-3 promise” made to the management of the university during a courtesy visit to the organization’s headquarters in November 2021.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of Algorithm Media Limited, Otunba Seni Adetu had, during the visit, pledged automatic employments to the three (3) best graduating students of the Mass Communication Department of the University of Lagos over the next three academic sessions, a pledge meant to support the P3P Strategy initiative of the Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe led management.
While presenting the three new employees to the Vice-Chancellor in his office, Otunba Adetu described the gesture as being in furtherance of the partnership between both Algorithm Media and UNILAG.
He said the trio were among others who went through the company’s rigorous recruitment phases and were shortlisted having been found worthy.
The Media top-shot and 1985 Chemical Engineering graduate of UNILAG commended the university’s management for the top-notch leadership over the decades, a feat which he said, has continued to make UNILAG rank top among the comity of ivory towers globally.
In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, appreciated the management of Algorithm Media Limited led by Otunba Seni Adetu for the favourable disposition and commitment to UNILAG, a gesture which birthed the “3-by-3” promise.
While speaking on the indispensability of Alumni Associations in the growth and advancement of tertiary institutions as obtainable in advanced countries, Prof. Ogundipe said the goal of the university management is to groom UNILAG into a research hub where capacities will be built and solution-oriented researches carried out.
Highpoint of the visit by the team from Algorithm Media Limited to the Vice-Chancellor’s office was the formal presentation of a dummy cheque of One million naira (N 1 million) to the management of UNILAG as the company’s donation towards the forthcoming 26th Nigerian Universities’ Games (NUGA) which is being hosted by the University of Lagos.
Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, was in turn, grateful to the media company and expressed hopes of further collaborations especially in the areas of social media campaigns and more visibility for the biennial Universities’ Sports fiesta.
In separate remarks, the three UNILAG Mass Communication graduates freshly employed by the Algorithm Media were full of gratitude to both their alma-mater and the Media company for the partnership which brought about the employment opportunities, they described their induction and experience so far as a new learning curve which builds upon their tutelage in the University of Lagos.
