Dr. Margaret Ilomuanya, of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy has been awarded a $150,000 research grant by the Jeiven Pharmaceuticals and the Population Council for her project titled, “Advancing the Research and Development of Innovative HIV Prevention Products for Women.”
Being a co-applicant, Dr. Ilomuanya’s grant as a Researcher of global repute in collaboration with the Population Council NY, USA is to develop a GMP production facility that will produce GMP pharmaceutical products for clinical trial use as well as use in the Nigerian Pharmaceutical market.
Dr. Ilomuanya is internationally recognized for her research as a Pharmacist/ Drug developer/ Lecturer with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. She is also skilled in Pharmaceutics, Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS), SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and Confocal Microscopy.
