Members of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) (Chartered), University of Lagos (UNILAG) Chapter, rose from the institute’s 14th Annual General Meeting with a cue to explore opportunities available in the renewable energy sector in meeting their power needs.
This was the crux of the Management Talk which formed part of activities marking the 14th AGM of the UNILAG Chapter of NIM (Chartered) held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the Arthur Mbanefo Digital Research Centre of UNILAG.

Speaking on the topic: Coping with the Current Nigerian Economy: Harnessing Opportunities in Renewable Energy Sector, the Resource Person, Dr. Segun Adaju (Chief Energizing Officer, Consistent Energy Limited), took the gathering through the key factors influencing the myriad of challenges plaguing the current Nigerian economy. Issues, which he said, are largely fueled by the mismanagements of past leaders.
Dr. Adaju gave suggestions which could help Nigerians keep afloat despite the quagmire. These include prudent financial management, pursuit of a business and career plan for additional income generation, reduction in the cost of living as well as economic awareness.

The Energy expert identified agriculture, fashion, real estate, energy, supply chain, consultancy, healthcare and a few other areas as money spinners not minding the prevalent economy.
He expressed reservation over the current state of energy in Nigeria and the failure of government in mitigating the effect on the masses.

While elaborating on the potentials of renewable energy and its many benefits to both users and the society at large, Dr. Adaju solicited the need for policies which would engender its adoption and affordability among Nigerians.
The AGM was attended by the South West Zone Chairman, ably represented by the South West Zone Secretary, Mrs. Talabi Adebile, FNIM; and Lagos State Branch Chairman, Mrs. Bridget Babalola, FNIM, among others.
