The Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos, received a major boost in its efforts to create a more conducive environment for students and staff, as the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, unveiled a new restroom facility within the Faculty on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
The modern, state-of-the-art restroom was generously donated by the CEO of Midas Touch Interior Limited, Ms. Mabel Nwanegbu, as facilitated by a lecturer in the Faculty, Dr. Adegboyega Ehinmowo, and Dr. Sam Ejiwunmi.


While introducing the donor to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Ehinmowo provided a detailed account of the circumstances that inspired the donation. He explained that the new facility will address long-standing challenges related to convenience and sanitation within the department.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ogunsola, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the donor for the thoughtful gesture.


In her words, “You can not place people in an unpleasant environment and expect them to grow with decency,” emphasizing the importance of experiential learning within spaces that are safe, dignified, and conducive.


Present at the unveiling ceremony were the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Professor Samson Oluropo Adeosun, and the Head of Department, Professor Olaosebikan Olafadehan, Sub-Dean, School of Postgraduates Studies, Dr. Aliu Soyingbe among other members of the University community.
