On 21st December 2018, fifteen (15) students of the University of Lagos presented their business idea models at the second phase of a Business Pitch competition, organized by the Institution in conjunction with  Lufthansa tagged “Impact Week”

The event which started with its first phase in November with students presenting different business ideas ranging from health, insurance, aviation, education, transportation, commerce, tourism, technology on  display for assessment in which the final fifteen emerged.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Development Services, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola who was excited with the student’s creative acumen lauded the initiative and stressed that there was a paradigm shift in knowledge acquisition in Universities. She remarked that the students of today have the creative minds to excel as entrepreneurs but would require the enabling environment and required training to achieve their dream.

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe said the University of Lagos has designed a robust partnership and stakeholder agreement with corporate, industry experts with the aim to unlock the potentials in our student for them to become self employed and self reliant.

The Acting Director of the Centre, Dr Sunday Adebisi noted that during the teacher-training which commenced before the Impact Week, eight designs were conceived by the teachers which were tested and recorded huge success. He added that the University has budgeted N5Milon seed fund to support viable business ideas of the students.
