On Friday, November 23, 2018, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, received the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr. Stefan Traufmann, in his office.

The German Consul General was in the University to discuss collaborative measures between Germany and the University.

Among the several measures discussed by the two parties were collaborations between Germany universities & industries and UNILAG, the setting up of a link between the Nigerian-German Business Association and the University, proposed establishment of a Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst “DAAD” (German Academic Exchange Service) office in the University, the facilitation of split-side PhDs for young academics, split side projects in which German academia and experts will come down to the University to pass on knowledge to members of staff and students, ease in getting/processing visas for academics who need to go to Germany for programmes and Conferences, to mention a few.
