Management has directed that all members of staff should fully participate in the University of Lagos  2018 Staff Medical Screening (SMS).

The screening commenced on Thursday, 16th August 2018 with scheduling on a departmental basis.

For females who are 35 years and above, screening will include breast and cervical cancer screening.

Males who are 45 years and above will undergo prostate cancer screening.

Staff within these age brackets should avoid sexual intercourse at least 24hrs before the screening day, as this may affect the test result.

Invitation letters have also been sent to staff through their University emails. Members of staff are encouraged to check their email inboxes accordingly so as not to miss out on this opportunity.

Participants are requested to come fasting to the Records Unit of the Medical Centre at 8:00a.m on their scheduled screening day, i.e. supper should have been taken by 9:00p.m. the night before. Fasting must not exceed 12hours.

Staff should bring along a copy of their invitation letter and should not engage in physical exercise on the morning of the screening.

All Heads of Departments and Units are requested to pass this information across to their staff and to mobilize them for the program.
