A novel titled: “What it Takes”, written by Dr. Lola Akande of the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos, has emerged the winning prose fiction for the 2017 edition of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Prize for Prose Fiction.

The 2017 edition of ANA Annual Literary Prizes/Awards had 6 literary prize award categories (for both published and unpublished works). For the Prose Fiction Prize category, Dr. Akande’s novel “What it Takes”, competed against three (3) books: “The Devil’s Pawn” by Kukogho Iruesiri; “Across The Gulf” by Dul Johnson and “Goodbye Tomorrow” by Ike Utuagha.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, on behalf of the Management, staff and students, congratulates the seasoned scholar on this meritorious achievement.
