On Friday, October 26, 2018, the new Ambassador of the Embassy of Finland, Abuja, Dr. Jyrki Pulkkinen paid courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS at the Conference room.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Management Services, Prof. Ben Oghojafor received the Ambassador on behalf of the Vice Chancellor.
Dr. Pulkinnen, after thanking the Management for the warm reception, explained that he was in the University for collaborative measures. He stated that Finland is currently looking at collaborating with African universities in the areas of Science, Education and research.
Immediate past Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Taiwo Ipaye, who was also present at the meeting, gave a brief report on the University Management’s visit to Finland in June, the resolutions made and steps taken to the actualisation of them.
Dr. Pulkinnen was excited to hear the extent the University had gone and recommended a look into “the Study of the Future”, which members of the Management Team disclosed is being carried out in various departments in the University.
The brief visit was brought to a close with the presentation of a souvenir to the Finnish Ambassador and taking of a group photograph.
