WELCOME TO DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACOLOGY, THERAPEUTIC AND TOXICOLOGY
The Department is actively involved in teaching and research. The Department teaches various categories of students including undergraduate Pharmacology, Pharmacy, medical and Dental, Physiology, Radiography and Dental Nursing students. The Department is also teaching and training postgraduate students undergoing M.Sc and Ph.D in Pharmacology.
The members of staff of the Department are actively involved in notable research in different fields of Pharmacology, some of the active research work presently going on in the Department include – – Pharmacological evaluation of Plumbago zeylanica (lead wort) in animal model – Effect of riboflarin agains Plasmodium berghei infection – Role of honey in the treatment of malaria – Adverse drug reaction monitoring of ACTS in LUTH -Modulatory effect of antioxidants against the mutagenicity of rifampicin Aphrodisiac activity of alcohol extract of Syzigium aromaticum (L) Merr and Perry (clove) in male: a comparative study.
Members of staff of the Department regularly attend both local and international workshop as well as conferences.
