The University of Lagos is currently hosting a 7-man Visitation Team of Senate Committee on Public Procurement.
The team led by Former Commissioner for Budget and Planning in Edo State, Hon. Dr. Lawrence Aghedo arrived the university on Thursday, November 9, 2023. They immediately moved to the Council Chamber for the assessment of procurement activities under the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) intervention projects by all Federal and State Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in the South West Zone, from 2020 till date.
The Senate Committee on Public Procurement is charged with overseeing the implementation of procurement activities in all Federal and State Ministries, Departments and Agencies including entities set up by the constitution and Acts of the National Assembly. It is also charged with ensuring compliance with the Public Procurement Act (2007).
This assessment exercise will run till Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
