The Centre for Digital Humanities, University of Lagos (CEDHUL), has been awarded the Volkswagen Foundation Grant to host the 3rd Lagos Summer School in Digital Humanities (LSSDH) at the University of Lagos.
The annual training, which is being organised in conjunction with the Digital Humanities Institute, University of Cologne, Germany, will hold as a blended event (i.e. physically and virtually) at the University of Lagos as scheduled below:

LSSDH is a week-long international interdisciplinary workshop for postgraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral students. Over 60 participants from Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa will attend this year’s Summer School, while several other scholars from Africa and beyond will participate virtually.
Scholars and researchers in the humanities who are now deploying digital tools for research and innovation have been produced from this Institute. This was actualised through the grant that was awarded under the Volkswagen Foundation’s Scheme, “Knowledge for Tomorrow – Cooperative Research Projects in Sub-Saharan Africa“. The grant is valued at over €45,000 with the University of Cologne, Germany, as the fund administrator.
