ULWS Nursery & Primary School Celebrates Trailblazing Pupils

The University of Lagos Women Society (ULWS) Nursery and Primary School has recognised and rewarded the trailblazing efforts of six pupils who emerged Overall Best at each academic level of the elementary school for the outgone session.

They are:

Year 1: Oseni Abdulrahman.

Year 2: Oyedeji Temiloluwa

Year 3: Obadina Haneefah.

Year 4: Makanjuola Oluwadabira.

Year 5: Olowofela Olamide

Year 6: Owolabi Rihannat.

The honours were conferred on them respectively at the School’s Prize Giving Day on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

The well-attended event had parents, teachers, Board Members, and corporate supporters of the school. President of the University of Lagos Women Society (ULWS), Dr. Folasade Ipaye, FNIM, was also present.

While acknowledging parents and dignitaries for their tireless support for the school, the Head Mistress of the School, Mrs Abimbola Motunrayo, showered encomium on the President of ULWS, Dr. Folasade Ipaye, FNIM for her leadership prowess and sponsorship of The President’s Award for the three best performing students of Primary 4.

The Head Mistress of the School, Mrs. Afolabi Abimbola Motunrayo, expressed gratitude to everyone who has continued to support the school and the maintenance of its uncompromising standard, which has resulted in the production of outstanding pupils who have gone ahead to make the country proud.

She seized the opportunity to showcase the performance of Olabisi Precious, who took 3rd Position in the SMART KIDS Quiz Competition organized by Apt Scholars Universal College, Ota, Ogun State. She also extolled the performance of Kamsiyochukwu Umeh, a product of the ULWS Nursery & Primary School, who scored 360 to emerge the Overall Best Student of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The Head Mistress charged parents to encourage their friends and relatives to bring their wards to ULWS Nursery & Primary School, because they are sure to get value for their investment.

Roll call of Prize Presenters:

  • The Group Managing Director of Vitafoam, Mr. Adeniyi presented one award each to the Best Pupils in Basic Science and Technology from Primary 1 to 6.
  • The Best Pupils from Primary 1 to 6 got awards for Cultural and Creative Arts from Mr. and Mrs. Chidi Okpe.
  • Similarly, Mrs Ifedolapo Towobola gave an award to each of the best performing pupil in English Studies, from Primary 1 to 6.
  • The best pupils in History from Primary 1 to 6 each got an award from Mr. and Mrs. Owolabi.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Ahmed gave awards to the best-performing pupils in French, from Primary 2 to Primary 6. They also extended the same gesture to the best performing pupils in Pre- Vocational Studies.
  • The best-performing pupils in Mathematics Primary 1 to 6 each got an award from Tayo and Lois, grandchildren of the late proprietor of Yem Yem Stores.
  • Eng. and Mrs. Shobowale rewarded the best-performing pupils in Quantitative Reasoning, from Primary 1 to 6.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Aluko rewarded the best-performing pupils in Verbal Reasoning across all the levels.  
  • Barrister and Mrs Obadina awarded the best-performing pupils, from Primary 1 to 6, in Religious and National Values.  
  • Mr. and Mrs. Giwa gave awards to the best-performing pupils in Yoruba Language, from Primary 1 to 6.
