2023 Umoja Summit/Nelson Mandela Week: Participants Tour UNILAG Campus

As part of activities marking the 2023 Umoja African Student Leaders Network Summit/UNILAG Mandela Week being hosted by the University of Lagos, participants were treated to a tour of the university campus.

The campus tour marked the high point of activities which held on Wednesday, July 18, 2023.

Places visited included the UNILAG Green Hub, the Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Centre (ESDC) and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) IT Hub (NITHub).

The delegation was also at the UNILAG Media Centre where they had a tour of UNILAG TV and a live session on UNILAG Radio 103.1 FM, Nigeria’s first campus radio.

The tour afforded the participants who are student-leaders from various universities across Africa the opportunity of a closer feel of the UNILAG Campus community and some of its fascinating facilities.

They were particularly excited at the trailblazing feats UNILAG is recording in the promotion of environmental sustainability, circular economy and recycling through the Green Hub.

The student-leaders were also taken aback by the innovative approach to job creation and the milestones already recorded through the Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Centre.

The icing on the cake for the tour was at the UNILAG Media Centre where they vibed and jammed to various Nigerian hit songs courtesy of UNILAG Radio.

The 2023 Umoja African Student Leaders Network Summit/Nelson Mandela Week kicked off on Monday, July 17, 2023 with deliberations focusing on Technology and Culture Preservation.
