4th UNILAG International Week Begins, Oct 22

The 4th International Week of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) will formally begin on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 10 am at the Tayo Aderinokun, Lecture Theatre, UNILAG, Akoka.

With the theme: Inclusive Digital Transformation and the University Promise, expected participants include members of the diplomatic community, education policy makers, representatives of Nigerian and international education institutions, leading academics, members of industry and development partners as well as students.

Universities across Nigeria and other African countries, United Kingdom (UK), United States (US), Canada, European Union, and Asia will converge at UNILAG for the International Week which will feature various events including the University’s 17th Annual Research Conference.

The theme of the Conference is Digital Transformation for Inclusive Higher Education, while the sub-themes are as follows:

  • Accessibility and Equity in Application of Digital Transformation for Inclusive Higher Education
  • Digital Pedagogies for Scholar Engagement and Professional Development
  • Digital Innovations in STEM and Medical Education
  • Technological Innovation and the Built Environment
  • Digital Innovation and Management
  • Indigenous Knowledge and Contemporary Global Issues

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) through its annual International week provides a platform to address some of the challenges confronting higher institution. Over the last four years, the International Week has attracted some of the most influential stakeholders in global and local educational partnerships to discuss our realities and come up with solutions.

The objectives of the events are:

  • To provide a forum for cross fertilization of ideas between Industry and academia, between institutions from the global north and south as well as within the global south;
  • To promote the African Union objective of a more integrated Africa and;
  • To provide a platform to discuss strategies that could assist Nigeria benefit from the opportunities of transnational education.
